Lewis Is Turning In His Grave

I am very aware that the Chronicles of Narnia movie created a firestorm of merchandising. I loved the books first, the new movie second, and I was pained to see the enormous amount of stuff that it generated. But, my horror reached its paramount upon seeing this:

That's Peter's sword reduced to functioning as a letter opener. It doesn't get any worse than that. What kind of world do we live in when an out of work sword has no choice but to sell himself out to this kind of slave labor?

'Tis a shame, indeed.

Not just an out of work sword...

...an out of work FICTIONAL sword...bleah.

I don't think "letter opener" is what Santa had in mind when he gave it to Peter.

Hey I used your new banner on CCS. Nice.

I'm waiting for them to get around to filming Voyage of the Dawn Treader so I can get my talking Reepicheep toy.
