The Quest for Religious Freedom Has Its Hardships

Those poor pilgrims. Look at the conditions they had to endure just to escape religious persecution. Who knew 17th Century ships were so tiny? It says we are blessed, but I'll bet they didn't feel that way, having to sleep on top of pumpkins.

Strange. Such small ships and giant turkeys. I guess they just don't make them like they used to.

I hope no one takes offense at my shameless fun at Jim Shore's expense. I wouldn't take such issue with these pieces if they weren't being sold in a Christian bookstore. As I've said before, putting the word blessed on something doesn't make it Christian

LOL! How have I never seen that site before? What is Signals?

Thanks for that, dinosaur mom.

Looks like you've got another vein to mine, Greg....

But if you knew anything about history, you'd know they slept IN the giant pumpkins.

Sorry, Diesel. My mistake. I guess I need to go brush up on my pre-Colonial history.

On top of pumpkins...what was I thinking?

Look at those pumpkins - they're ginormous! Definitely state fair winning material.

My biggest question is this:

Kitsch or not, what does one DO with a small boat filled with skinny pilgrims, giant pumpkins, and mutant turkeys?

Is it like an action figure playset? Does it just sit there? Is it like a centerpiece?

Whatever it is, it ain't art.

Remember Joel, art isn't art anymore. These days, art is supposed to be cute, especially Christian art.

Gregory, I sure hope all these pictures are not coming from your own house!

Aaaaaaugh! I'll have to suffer with decorations [ahem] such as these all during Thanksgiving, and on into Christmas!

Signals is the catalog that supports public TV and radio. They have some really great, unique stuff in there.

Damn, Anita. You've figured out my ruse.

I guess the jig is up.
