Year End Wrap-Up: 2006!

Well, folks, it's that time of year. A time for looking back, retrospecting, thinking about all the ups and downs of 2006, and relentlessly poking fun at them. You may have noticed that I have been mysteriously silent for the past week or so, and I know you've missed me, so I'll reveal to you the reason for my absence: I was taking a break. Probably not a good excuse, but it's the truth. I played a lot of video games. Anyway, to make it up to all of you, I bought you all presents; well, a present to be exact. You'll all be receiving copies of:

(Make your own here.)

You should be receiving them in the mail in about a week or so. So, I thought I'd take this time to give you a list of some of my top fives for 2006, and a list of resolutions, as that seems to be the customary blogger thing to do.

Without further ado, presenting the first annual Kinda Kitschy New Year's Top 5 Awards!

1. I will, at some point, be forced to actually go out and look for kitsch.

There you have it: my greatest hits of 2006. If you made the list, congratulations! If not, you really should try harder. I'm not terribly intelligent, therefore not too hard to please. Really, get the lead out.

I leave you all with this, an ode to John Stewart, your moment of kitsch:

Please direct all messages, morals, and customized captions to the comment area. In other words, snark this one yourself!

Wow, back with a vengeance!

I was actually a little disappointed in Thank You for Smoking after all the build-up.

I finally took your advice and got the BSG miniseries from Netflix, and HFC (Holy Freakin' Crap) is it good. Thanks.

I loved your resolutions, and I certainly can't complain about your blog list. :) Thanks, Gregory. I hope your new year is filled with mountains of Kitsch.

Thanks for listing my blog, Greg! This post was certainly a good one. You must have some mad PhotoShop skillz...love the "Dummies" takeoff!

I've taken a lot of time off, too. Writing is tough when your mind's on Overwhelm.

Hope your Christmas was wonderful, and may your 2007 be filled with joy, peace, and plenty. Oh--and KITSCH!

Actually, Kitty, you can make one those Dummies books yourself. Just click the link under the image. Although, yes, I do have da mad Photoshop skillz (yes, skills with a Z).

D'oh. I just caught the "Dummies" book cover link.

Man, *I* want mad PhotoShop skillZ, too. If I could just afford PhotoShop...and had time to play with it... [sigh]

I recommend the GIMP 2.0, Miss Kitty. You can download it at download.com

It has a lot of the functionality of Photoshop, and best of all, it's FREE!

Thanks for the tip, Greg! I'll go download it right away.
